This article focuses on using raw coal as the materials to make coal briquettes. The surface water of the raw coal should be under 10% and the particle size is supposed to be 5~50mm. Before briquetting, a rotary dryer is needed to dry the raw coal preliminarily. In rotary dryer, there is a multi-cyclone which can exhaust the gas in the raw coal, so that the dusts can be removed before venting the gas to the open air.

The image above is a cross-sectional view of carbonization furnace with low-temperature, internal-heating fluidized-bed. This process retains approximately 20% of the volatile matter in the semi-coke and because of this it is seen as the most efficient way to make carbonizing semi-coke.
