On February 3th, the chairman of the Shengquan group company, which had come back from the NPC and CPPCC of Shandong province, told an economic newspaper journalist that in the year of 2012, Shengquan has consumed 120 thousand tons of corn cob in the briquette production, and when the second phase of the project is finished, the amount of the corn cob that consumed by Shengquan would reach to 200 thousand tons, now it is the time to figure out how to get enough raw material supplementary. Shengquan bought the corn cobs from the 3 main corn cultivate areas of China, the northeast part of China, Hebei province, Henan province, Jiangsu province, etc, the price is about 800 RMB/ton.

Theoretically the raw material types range is broad, all the straws of the grains could be used in briquette production, but buying the corn cob and corn straw is quite different in reality, the time between corn maturity to wheat seeding is only one month, most of the farmers don’t have enough time to deal with the corn straw.

The biomass briquette production is a low profit industry, the cost for each step shall be calculated more carefully, including the briquette press machine price to the production cost. For the next few years, improving the structure of biomass briquette industry chain is the main aim for China.
